Cacao Ceremony in the Woods
Cacao opens the heart gently. It is not a psychedelic and it asks nothing dramatic of you, it simply makes it a little harder to keep pretending you are fine.
The day itself
We walk into the wood together at dusk and build the fire. Cups are warmed on the stone, the cacao is prepared in front of you, and we sit.
The circle is spoken but never compulsory. Some people talk. Some people cry. Some sit with their cup for three hours and say a single sentence at the end, and that sentence is usually the important one.
Live drum and voice carry the middle of the evening. We close by putting something down, named aloud or written and given to the fire, and walk back out under whatever the Cornish sky is doing.
