Qigong Forest Day Retreat
Qigong is not exercise. It is the oldest conversation we know of between breath, body and place, and the woodland here is the other half of that conversation.
The day itself
We begin standing. Feet on leaf litter, knees soft, hands finding the shape the body already remembers. The first hour is spent doing almost nothing, deliberately, until the nervous system believes it.
From there the day opens into the eight classical movements: Ba Duan Jin, taught slowly and without correction anxiety. No one is watching your form. The oaks are indifferent and that is a mercy.
Afternoon is spent in silent walking practice through the deep woodland, then a closing standing set in the clearing as the light goes long and copper.
