Fire Ceremony at the Star Stones
The stones here are not a stone circle, they map the sky. Fire has been lit inside alignments like this one for longer than anything we can name, and it still does the same work.
The day itself
We walk up together while there is still light, gather the wood, and build the fire by hand. Nobody arrives to find it already burning, the building is part of it.
Once it takes, we sit. There is a spoken round, and you can pass. There is drum, and you can listen instead of playing. What matters is that you are close enough to the heat to feel it change you.
Near the end each person gives something to the fire, named out loud or written and handed over in silence. Then we bank the embers, drink something hot, and walk down under whatever the sky is doing.
